Non è corretto tradurre la parola “statista” con statist, che significa “statalista”. Un grande politico a livello internazionale è chiamato statesman (al maschile) o stateswoman (al femminile): Margaret Thatcher was a great stateswoman, Margaret Thatcher è stata una grande statista (non Margaret Thatcher was a great statist).
